But actually Flip or Flip Skateboards was started in the UK in the year 1980 in the name Deathbox Skateboards. The name was changed to Flip in the year 1991. Flip was moved to California in the year 1994 and at that time the owner of the company were Jeremy Fox, Ian Deacon, Geoff Rowley, Andy Scott, Rune Glifberg and Tom Penny. In the year 1995, Geoff Rowley, Tom Penny, Rune Glifberg and Andy Scott left the team. But still Flip managed to establish itself as one of the biggest and most popular skateboard companies in the world.
